Roy Harper – Bloomsbury Theatre, London 9th April 1988

Can’t remember much about this Roy Harper gig and online searches haven’t been much help either except to tell me that it was the final night of a four night run at the Bloomsbury. Tickets were £5 and seating was unreserved.

Support was James Varda

  1. Really enjoying this website. We have traced similar paths, I started gig going in the late 70’s at Newcastle City Hall and was a many of the ones you highlighted (Hillage, Rush, Tangerine Dream) I moved to London in 1988, and being a big Roy Harper fan already, I was at these Bloomsbury gigs. Support was James Varda (not Paul, and sadly no longer with us). Roy was promoting his `Descendants of Smith’ album and had his son Nick alongside for much of it. It was a great run of gigs, and whilst I recorded a lot of Roy gigs, I didn’t record these sadly.
